Rohan Kumar Barua
Rohan holds a bachelor’s degree, a post graduate diploma and advanced diploma in Psychosynthesis therapy from the University of East London. He is an accredited member of the BACP and registered with the UKCP, an experienced coach, endorsed by the Institute of Leadership and Management and holds a trainers certificate from the Chambers of Commerce, Cologne.
With Indian father and a German mother, Rohan is ideally placed to explore issues with a significant multicultural and mixed -race context. He is able to combine this experience of both Western and Eastern thinking with an open and non-judgemental attitude gained from a wide-ranging career that has to date spanned tourism, finance and the military.
His mixed race background lead him to train extensively in systemic work, looking at family dynamics and cultural context with an focus on impact of migration. He has worked extensively with a large number of people from the Indian subcontinent who are challenged with reconciling their culture of origin with the present culture they live in. In addition to working one to one in a therapeutic context Rohan also runs a number of workshops holding the systemic context.
Rohan has extensive experience in short term solution focused work having worked for a number of charities including The Terrence Higgins Trust, The Place 2 Be, St Christopher’s Hospice and most recently The NAZ project London as a supervisor.
Most recently Rohan has qualified as a relational supervisor and offers supervision to professionals from rage of fields including therapists.
His work is based on a sound ethical framework and is regularly supervised to maintain the highest standards.
